I normally prefer to run open access points so that people can freely access the internet responsibly when they visit me. I've even added (and lost) a one hour cap to new users that I haven't registered the MAC address of permanently. Now, I face a greater authentication problem - illegal use and banishment. It wasn't enough to secure it using MAC addresses as someone has been spoofing again. Normally I'd shrug it off an look for the tech saavy culprit. This time it is much worse as the user has been accessing illegal content...
What makes it worse is that one of those "Neighbourhood Watch" pamplets came to the house warning about people with a criminal history in the neighbourhood. It's silly that I have to change because someone else is a sick []. I believe in fixing a problem when it arises and this problem has come and until all of the registered criminals leave the neighbourhood I will continue to utilize restrictive security.
Oh, and another crazy neighbour is watching our houses and recording audio according to one neighbour. Why do these creeps need to do this?
